Please note that gorilla permit or chimpanzee tracking permit availability cannot be guaranteed until we receive a deposit of USD$700 per gorilla permit and actually book and pay for the permits. The programme or even dates of travel may have to be altered if affected by gorilla permit or lodge availability.

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. You will be Met and assisted by a UGANDA SAFARI CHAPTER representative. Transfer to Entebbe for overnight at Protea by Marriott Hotel, Entebbe.

Overnight at Protea by Marriott, Entebbe (BB) “OR similar”

This morning we Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (about 3 hrs drive).The drive takes us past Volcanic crater lakes and on a clear day one can see the famous “Mountains of the Moon”, The Rwenzori Mountains. Late afternoon we take game drives. Mweya Lodge is located on a peninsula in the heart of the spectacular Queen Elizabeth national Park, with breathtaking, game and some of the best bird watching in East Africa (about 500 different bird species).

Katara Lodge, is a small lodge perched on the hills overlooking the vast savannah plains of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. 

After lunch we will take an afternoon game drive in the park

This morning we take Game drives in the park. Late afternoon we take a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, 32 kms long. This water system has the highest concentration of Hippo in the world and we will get quite close to them. See also crocodile, buffalo and other game that drink from the channel, also marvel at the abundant ornitho-life that is supported here. 

This day after breakfast you will be driven to Bwindi where you will spend two nights as well as experience a unique and ultimate Panoramic hill of Kigezi, on your way you encounter the beautiful scenic volcanoes of the great Virunga. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds such as hornbills and turacos. It is most notable for the 340 Bwindi gorillas, half of the world’s population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. It is accessible only on foot and is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization-designated World Heritage Site.

Overnight at Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge (LDBB) “OR similar” The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Nkuringo local community and not only provides a fantastic base from which to go Mountain Gorilla Trekking and birdlife of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest but also allows it’s guests to experience the rich and vibrant culture of the communities that surround it.

Today after an energizing breakfast, you will have a once in a lifetime experience of gorilla trekking, you will report to the ranger station before 8 am registration and briefing by one of the rangers; the guides will then lead you through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from half an hour to 7 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking boots. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas.

Later in the evening you will visit the first people of the Forest – the Batwa: These are the pygmies and were the first inhabitants of years, they were hunter-gatherers and lived in the forests of Southwest Uganda and beyond.  They left a small ecological footprint on the forest and lived in harmony with nature. Conservationists insisted that they were evicted from their traditional home, the Forest.  In those days they had no voice, no representation – the existed as squatters, beggars, accused of being drunkards, marijuana smoking and lazy people.

Overnight at Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge. (LDBB) “OR similar”

After an early breakfast this morning, we will set out for a road trip to the Lake Mburo National park.

Lake Mburo National Park is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years. It is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribis, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, Topi and reedbuck. 

We will get to our lodge in time for lunch.

After lunch, leave for a boat trip on the stunning Lake Mburo located inside the park. The boat safari take about an hour, you look out for the Crocodiles busking in the sun, schools of hippos, numerous birdlife like pelicans, malachite and pied kingfishers fishing, herons, cormorants, and the flamboyant fish eagle.

Overnight at Kigambira Safari Lodge (LDBB) “OR similar” 

Kigambira Safari Lodge is a luxury eco – lodge built in the Southern part of Lake Mburo National Park; Uganda’s smallest park. Nestled between Lake Kigambira and the Rubanga Forest, the location provides the ideal base for the adventurous traveler with a range of activities from game drives & boat trips on Lake Mburo, to exhilarating hikes through the low canopied forest or the looping trail around Lake Kigambira.

Today morning after an early breakfast, your driver guide will take drive to the park for the game drive. On this game drive; you will look out for Impala, Buffaloes, Topi, and the largest herds of Zebras in Uganda, recently Giraffes added to the mammal list in Lake Mburo having become extinct in the years past. Enjoy the varying scenery in the national park.

In the afternoon, we will have optional activities including horse riding and quad bikes which is a highlight of this park.

Overnight at Kigambira Safari Lodge (LDBB) “OR similar”

After breakfast, your guide will take you on a road trip with an early morning game drive on your way to Kalangala through the township of Masaka. At Bukakata, we cross by ferry onto Kalangala, Sesse islands. We will be in time for lunch at our lodge, Brovad Sands Lodge.

It is now time to climax our trip on the white sand beaches of Lake Victoria.

Brovad Sands Lodge -Tucked away in the charming island of Bugala in Ssese Islands on Lake Victoria is the tropical hideaway of Uganda, a blissful holiday beach resort that is inviting, cozy, relaxing with direct Water access. A beautiful property embraced by a private natural white sand beach and shaded by soaring natural vegetation, trees, Brovad Sands Lodge is a fascinating treasure immersed in history and tradition.

Overnight at Brovad Sands (LDBB) “OR similar” The next 2 days will be beach life, enjoying warm Uganda weather in a luxurious environment. 

We will spend the day at leisure with optional excursions including quad biking, fishing, and a trip for birding on the lake. Lots of beach games including Volleball, and beach soccer.

In the afternoon, at 4pm, we will take a sun downer cruise on the lake Victoria with a barbeque at the end and cocktail party to celebrate our time together as we prepare to head back to Entebbe the next day.

After Lunch, we transfer by boat to Entebbe.

Arrive Entebbe by 0200 hours with ample time to board the next international flight back home. We will have a quick city tour of Entebbe and have our lunch at one of the famous restaurants. If time allows, we will have a day room access at the Protea Hotel in Entebbe. On arrival to the hotel, we will take our PCR tests to give the medical team ample time to deliver results within 4 hours.

We will transfer to the airport later in the evening for the international flight.
